Our dear friend, Jackie Vario, passed away on December 9th. She was a very special member of our tap dance community and we will miss her greatly. We will be holding a special memorial class in her honor on what would have been her 93rd birthday: Monday, January 20 at 10 am. During this class, we will take some time for people to share their favorite memories of Jackie. After the class, we will go to Ted’s Hot Dogs for lunch, which is something we did to celebrate Jackie’s birthday for that last few years.
All friends of Jackie are welcome to attend, even if you are not interested in participating in the class. We would love for everyone to come share their favorite Jackie story. Please let us know if you plan on attending, if you plan to participate in the class, and if you will be joining us for lunch. We would like to give Ted’s advanced notice with an approximate number.

Phoenix Tap Festival is brought to you by JMill Productions
Phoenix Tap Fest 2020 is happening in just a couple of weeks! This annual event is produced by our good friend Jenefer Miller (JMill Productions). There are still passes available to take some amazing classes. This year, the faculty includes the wonderful Ted Levy, Jeremy Arnold, Sean Kaminski, and Megan McBride Moore! And Jenefer Miller will be teaching several classes, too! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to learn with this outstanding faculty. Classes are available at the intermediate and advanced levels. Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center students who are level 3 and up should plan on taking intermediate level classes, which have been designated as appropriate for seniors.
Do you want to be there when Mary makes her official return to teaching? Mary will be teaching an Intermediate/Senior class on Friday, January 3 at 10:30 am!
Passes available include:
2-Day Passes (12 classes total) for $365 (includes registration fee)
1-Day Passes (6 classes total) for $200 (includes registration fee)
Individual Classes: $35 each + registration fee for 1st class taken ($10)
Observer’s Pass: $25
Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center Discount Members receive a 20% discount on all class passes!
Phoenix Tap Fest Showcases:
In addition to classes, there will be 2 showcases during the Phoenix Tap Fest:
Friday, January 3 at 7:30 pm - Participants Showcase
All festival participants taking 3 or more classes are welcome to perform in the Participants Showcase. Showcase fess are:
$25 - Solo
$35 - Duo or Trio
$50 - Groups of 4 or more
Tickets to the Participant Showcase will be available at the door for $10 each.
Saturday, January 4 at 7:30 pm - Faculty Showcase
Come watch the amazing faculty perform in this up-close and intimate setting. Tickets to the Faculty Showcase are $20 each and will be available at the door.
Raffle
In addition to classes and the showcases, there will also be a raffle featuring some wonderful tap dance related prizes, including an O’Mara practice board, gift certificates from Miller and Ben Tap Shoes, a gift certificate for Dancing Fair, and other prizes. The raffle will be held after the final class on Saturday around 6:15 pm.
All classes and events are being held at Dancers Domain in Scottsdale.
Next Session Starts Monday, January 6
Our next session starts Monday, January 6. Mary will be teaching again and will teaching the Level 2.1, Level 2.4, Level 2.7 and Level 3 classes. Raine and Marla will continue to teach the Never-2-Late and Level 1 classes. Sheri will teach the Level 2 and Level 4 classes.

So sorry to hear about Jackie. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. I plan to be there January 20 to celebrate her life and talents, to participate in class, and munch those veggie dogs at Ted’s.
