A recent update to our email post notification plug-in seemed to break things… In other words, when we posted our March 2019 News on March 1, email notifications were not sent out. We thought they had it fixed the other day, so we re-posted the newsletter. This time, it appeared that approximately 20 people received emails, and the remaining 550 people on our email list did not receive the any email notifications. We received a new update today and have been told that it should all be working now, so we are trying again. If you are one of the 20 people who received the email notification, we apologize for the redundant email. Hopefully everyone will be receiving this update.

In this post, you will find all of the latest news for Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center, including our upcoming March-April Session, news about the HeartBeat Tap Ensemble, and the upcoming Las Vegas Tap Festival. There’s lots going on, so be sure to scroll through the end.

Las Vegas Tap Festival: May 3 – 5, 2019

The Las Vegas Tap Festival is coming up! This year, it will be held Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5. This year’s theme is “The Year of the Woman” and the festival features an all female faculty. This tap fest is an ideal festival for the typical Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center student. They offer a full program for Seniors (age 50+) and have classes for all levels, including beginners.

Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center owner, Mary Wall, has been invited to teach at this year’s fest. Jenefer Ardell Miller from the AZ Tap Cluband Phoenix Tap Fest will also be teaching a class. In addition, The HeartBeat Tap Ensemble will be performing at the kick-off show “The Power of the Woman” on Friday night.

Vegas is just a short distance from Phoenix, and it would be great if we were well represented at this year’s festival. For more information, please visit their website at

Thinking About Joining the HeartBeats?

Are you thinking about joining the HeartBeat Tap Ensemble? Please be sure to discuss your plans with Mary Wall first. In the meantime, there are a few things to consider in making your decision:

1 – It is strongly recommended that you be competent through and including Level 2.7. Having completed these levels will make it easier for you to pick up our choreography.

2 – Are you willing to make the time commitment? Members of the HeartBeats attend a minimum of 3 classes a week: 2 of HeartBeat rehearsals and one required technique class each week. Performances vary and not all performances are required, but we like for each member to perform as often as possible.

3 – Are you will to make the financial commitment? Members of the HeartBeats must pay “dues” and are required to pay for their minimum 3 classes per session (2 HeartBeats classes and 1 technique class). In addition, there are also costume fees and all members need a pair of red and black spectator style tap shoes. Most members purchase Miller and Ben Jazz Tap Masters, but there are other options available.

4 – The May-June Session will be a HeartBeat Recruitment Session. People contemplating joining the HeartBeats will be allowed to drop-in to our classes to try them out. We will then accept new members beginning in the August-September Session. All members are expected to make a 1 year commitment.
